Interim Website Information
Website-use information.
This page describes MAQUINE's current intended website boundaries. It is not a counsel-approved contract and does not create a client relationship. Only an explicitly approved, versioned agreement can govern a project.
Interim information reviewed July 23, 2026
Website scope
This website presents MAQUINE's publishing, international-rights, localization, foreign-edition, and partnership work. Its editorial and business materials are general information and may be revised as services, catalogs, markets, and availability develop. The Foreign Edition Studio currently presents a planning preview: private accounts, proposals, agreements, uploads, production intake, and payments are unavailable unless the portal expressly confirms activation.
No automatic relationship
Sending an ordinary inquiry, catalog, or other material does not create representation, agency, publication, licensing, exclusivity, fiduciary duty, or a partnership. A Studio submission begins a controlled evaluation workflow, not a production engagement. Project obligations arise only from the exact accepted proposal and the separate versioned services agreement.
Authority to submit
Send materials only when you own the relevant rights or are authorized to represent the rightsholder. You are responsible for the accuracy of ownership, territory, format, term, publication-history, and availability information supplied to MAQUINE.
Review and confidentiality
Never send a manuscript or confidential project, payment, identity, agreement, or delivery file through the ordinary inquiry form or email. Use only a private route that MAQUINE has expressly activated for the specific review. An activated private route uses access controls and a quarantine workflow, but no system can promise absolute security. Confidentiality obligations, permitted project access, and any special handling requirements must be stated in the applicable services agreement. Never send original physical materials or an irreplaceable sole copy.
Planning calculation and review
While private Studio activation is pending, the public calculator produces a non-contractual planning estimate from declared scope. It creates no proposal, payable amount, capacity reservation, or production commitment. A manual review request does not require a manuscript. If a future activated workflow issues a proposal, the trusted service must recalculate the inputs, record a versioned scope, and keep proposal acceptance separate from sample eligibility and production capacity.
Proposals and optional scope
No public proposal workflow is active. Any future approved proposal must be tied either to an immutable declared-scope snapshot or to one verified manuscript version. It must record the pricing-rule version, billable source count, rate, currency, tax statement, schedule statement, and selected optional scope. Nothing optional is accepted unless selected; material changes require a separately accepted change order.
Rights and edition ownership
Submitting a work authorizes only the evaluation and processing described in the current Studio terms and any later agreement. It does not assign publishing, translation, adaptation, distribution, audio, dramatic, merchandising, or other exploitation rights. The versioned agreement controls ownership and permitted use of commissioned localization and production deliverables.
Payment and delivery gates
Payments, production intake, and delivery are currently closed. The published 50 percent deposit and 50 percent final-balance structure is planning information only. Before activation, payment events, alternative-transfer evidence, proposal and agreement acceptance, capacity, private-file clearance, delivery access, finance verification, and refund or dispute handling must pass their separate gates.
Catalog and market information
Catalog descriptions, rights status, territories, formats, schedules, fair dates, market observations, and service availability can change. A website page is not a rights offer, guarantee of placement, legal opinion, sales forecast, or commitment to a publication date.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise identified, the MAQUINE name, visual identity, website design, original text, and commissioned artwork are protected materials. You may view and share links for ordinary professional reference, but may not reproduce, republish, train models on, sell, or create commercial derivatives from the site content without permission.
External services and availability
Links to fairs, publishers, platforms, or other third parties are provided for context and do not imply endorsement or control. MAQUINE may change, suspend, or correct the website and cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility, or freedom from every technical error.
Professional decisions
Rights, privacy, tax, legal, financial, and commercial decisions should be reviewed by qualified advisers. To the extent permitted by applicable law, MAQUINE is not responsible for decisions made solely from general website content. Written project agreements control if they conflict with these website terms.
Changes and contact
MAQUINE may update this interim information when the website or operating practices change. This page does not replace a separately approved and versioned project agreement. Questions about a particular inquiry or use of MAQUINE materials should be sent through the general contact route.
