The accepted scope snapshots the tier, deliverables, rate, source words, and pricing-rule version.
Cover design, ISBN purchase, printing, advertising spend, retailer approval, and sales guarantees are excluded unless expressly added.
A later scope change requires a versioned change order rather than an informal extra charge.
