The intended standard Foreign Edition Studio engagement is a defined services relationship. Subject to the signed agreement, you retain the original copyright, publishing rights, royalties, and creative control unless a separate written agreement explicitly says otherwise.
Under the signed agreement, you retain

- The original copyright and underlying work.
- Publishing rights and territorial decisions.
- Royalties and book-sale proceeds.
- Creative approvals defined in the agreement.
- The choice of where and how the finished edition is published.
- The choice to decline optional distribution, publishing, or representation services.
The signed agreement may grant MAQUINE
Only the authorization needed to perform the work.
- Only the permission stated in the agreement to securely analyze the submitted manuscript.
- Only the permission stated in the agreement to localize, edit, quality-check, and process the contracted edition.
- Permission to share confidential material only when the agreement and approved safeguards authorize the project specialist.
- Permission to retain project records only for the counsel-approved operational and legal period.
